    Well.

My pc went into repair 2days ago after my motherboard had gone, i presume from overclocking and well, breaking.

So, i bought a new motherboard.

I have a AMD athlon 2600+ processor, and with no overclocking it runs at 1.25ghz which i find well, stupid. At the moment i have my pc running at 1.8ghz from overclocking and my temperature reachs 60degrees. Is 60degrees too hot?

I don't know my FAN or Motherboard model, if u tell me how ill get it for you guys. Thx.

Edit: I have it running at 1.6ghz not 1.8.

60C = 140F is my personal redline for temps..... Id get some good AS5 or a better cooler or both before you try for more speed..... Also what core is it ?? Thunderbird ? or Tbred ? If its a Thunderbird your ok...but thats a bit hot for a Tbred..

:eek::eek: Drop the X and get more FSB !! My old Tbred did 400FSB EZ your memory is crawling at DDR 200  I mean realy Running a Hi core means nothing if all the CPU does is wait for your slow ram.... Go for 200 x 10 if your memory can take it ... What is the the stock speed on your ram ( CPUz SPD tab) .... And have you read the overclockign guide ????

    If your Concerned about Overclocking?

    The answer is Simple, Dont!

From what Cpuz tells me you lack the knowledge of just running at stock speeds (I can probably guess why the old mobo died)
It also say your running at 2004Mhz not 1.6 or 1.8 as you posted
Your Multiplier you have set to 20 thats Wrong, this can add to higher temps
    Your FSB, Wrong
Ya better check you cpu voltage too, this can also directly affect temps

I believe an AMD XP 2600+ Throughbred stock speed is something like 16 x 133 at 2133Mhz
You need to do alittle homework or you'll be back at the computershop before ya know it.

    I'm hesitant but Here's a linky on a 2600+:

    I can help you here.
I didnt mean my post to sound so testy, I guess I'm grumpy this morning.
Is your PC an off the shelf model or someone build for you?

Start by providing all system specs, like MOBO brand & model, memory etc.
Everest is good for system info:

Ace I see your Post talking to him msn, Great!

Kezzer, we need to expand your knowledge a bit, Gotta keep you out the service shops, Tooo expensive
Did you get any lititure with your PC, MOBO manual?
    Here's link for mobo manual:
    http://210.201.178.76/evisn/download/bios/download1.htm
The link i gave before has your CPU info/specs
A good Bios Guide avaible here:
    http://www.rojakpot.com/freebog.aspx
Everest is a great utility check out the rest of it, it also provides some valuable links.

I dont think you should overclock yet but have you checked out Ace's Overclocking Sticky full of good info:
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=52812

Keep an eye on your Temps, was probably due to incorrect settings but just incase watch em & check again once the correct stock speed is obtained.

Was trying to access Jetway web for MOBO manual, Thier Web or access to manual unavaible at this time so further help will have to wait till I can obtain a manual

What ya might do, If you can or know how is:
Enter Bios, probably is by pressing the delete key while booting.
Then should be an option listed on screen to "Load Fail Safe Defaults" or "Load default settings" something to that effect, select then save & exit
Save & exit is also achieved by pressing the F10 Key followed by the enter key
If once you enter Bios & your unsure what to do, then dont do anything except save & exit

The above may set your PC to stock settings, it may also make it underclock, underclocking wont hurt anything.

Overclocking Too far, or without enough knowledge can led to data corruption requiring reinstall or even Kill hardware
