Conflicting or Resource Hungry Software

Hi, after ensuring my pc was not infected with malware i was advised to seek guidance in this forum.

My pc appears slow at times and sometimes takes an eternity to open or run an application, including Explorer which is prone to freezing. This does happens on and off although start up and close down appears normal.

I appreciate more ram and a faster internet connection my be the causes but any pointers would be appreciated.

Hi

Can you give us some PC specs like Windows version and Service Pack used and are you fully up to date with all updates?

What is your PC make and model if one from DELL, HP, ACER etc or if a home build what are the specs and you can use the below to help

Download the free, Speccy HERE then run Speccy and click File > Save as Text File, then attach the log as per instructions below (note: as Speccy also now lists more data it likely will have your Windows licence serial key also in the log, so look for Operating System and under that Serial Number and delete the code and Save the log)

Then attach your log to your next post as per these instructions HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post

If you boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with networking) is your PC still slow?

Please attach the log from your startups as listed below as startup apps can cause a PC to be slow.

Run Ccleaner and click Tools > Startup and then click the Save to text file buttom at the bottom, Then attach your log to your next post as per these instructions HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post
