Confused

OK, I'm totally confused. Perhaps you guys can clear this up for me and, I'm sure, a lot of others here.

To combat "intrusions" into my systen I have the following programs installed (mostly on the advice of major-geeks):

AVG anti-virus system
Ad-aware 6.0
Ad-aware Cloak
SpywareBlaster
Tiny Personal Firewall
CWShredder
HijackThis
Speedy Rubbish Killer

Now I see that there's a completely new version of SpywareBlaster that requires me to uninstall the old version before loading the new (is this real or fake???).

Also, I now see Spyware Doctor which, it says, removes spyware, ad-aware, and many other tracking/hijacking type programs.

Doesn't some one have an all-in-one type progran that will do all these things?

If not, which ones should I keep, which ones do I add, and which ones do I delete?

This is a BIG question, I realize, however, I feel it is one that many of us "non geeks" have.

No - that's real. Did it the other day and it's working fine and dandy!

Um, don't know this one. There is a thread here about FAKE spyware programs. You may want to see what's listed there.

OH - it's right above these posts -- it's called a "sticky" about "fake spyware". You have to go to the first post for the complete list (it will be page 1 or 2 depending on how you have your posts viewed).
