Connect Two Computers Through Wireless

Hey

I have a wireless desktop computer in my house and i was wondering if it is at all possible to connect to my non wireless computer?

So i cant transfer files and stuff like that.

Anyone got any ideas?

 

Get a wireless router and hook up an ethernet cable to the non-wireless PC. Then both will be in the same network, one wired, one wireless.

ya thats how it is right now.

Goes from internet router, to wirless router, and then wired to my computer.

I just dont know how to connect them to eachother?

 

Make sure the wireless router is set for DHCP, which most are by default. Make sure both PC's are set to get their IP addresses automatically. They should both now get their IPs from the router and be in the same subnetwork. If the firewall's are on each computer (which I recomend they be), you will now need to allow file and print sharing. You may also need to set both PC's to be in the same workgroup. Then all you need to do is go to my network places and you should be able to see both computers and what they are sharing.

I am more of a hands on person....and can do all of this with my eyes closed. But, I am bad at explaining stuff....so if some of this does not make sense, please let me know and I will try to explain better.

Did you try the Network Setup Wizard in the control panel?

 

Ok i have everything set up.

Now whats the next step after configuring the router. What step do i go through in the computer and which one do i do it to?
