Connected????

After cleaning malware(malware forum) my computer shows that i have a connection to the internet but everytime i try to get on the net is says "server not found" like im not connected to the net...yet in the tray i have a excellent signal & shows "connected"...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance

 

go to a command prompt and try the following:

ping 4.2.2.2
(should get 4 responses)
ping google.com
(should get 4 responses)

ipconfig /all
(copy and paste results here)

So you have interenet connection but the DNS server for your plusnet isn't translating for you. Do you know how to change your IP settings to put in a different DNS server? If not, I can walk you through it. Try taking out that DNS server and putting in 4.2.2.2 temporarily. It's not the fastest DNS but it is handy for testing.

 

Dont know how 2 do that.:confused A "walk-thru" would be great..

 

When i went to change the DNS settings i just set it to Automatic & it started working...Thank you again for your help...U guys r GREAT!!!!
