Connectimg iphone to laptop

    i know there's a way to stop this but i cant figure out how. when i connect my iphone to my vista laptop itunes opens automatically.
    i have itunes set to not open but i know there's a vista setting i need to change

    Greetings, BLOND37...

    I'm not an iPod user, but seems as if I've read of options in iTunes that would disable logins, summaries, etc...

    As far as Vista goes, try Start, type 'Run' in the search bar (sans quotes), run 'msconfig' (sans quotes), answer OK to any UAC popup...click on the 'Startup' tab, and clear any entries there pertaining to iPods or iTunes...reboot, and see if that helps...

    Hi

    What Windows version (service pack)?
    What version of iTunes?

    I dont have this happen with my iPhone, but do check this location and untick the option, open iTunes and click Edit > Preferences > Devices tab and tick "prevent ipods. iphones and ipads from syncing automatically" and click OK and reboot and try.

    Also delete the itunes helper app from the startup list of your PC.


    *personally I wouldnt use msconfig for managging any app as you create issues if said application is ever uninstalled as the startup entries will be left in msconfig with a pita way to end up removing them, its good for troubleshooting apps but not managing*
