Depends on what kind of switch you have. If its managed, you can use vlans to logically separate them, and access control lists to allow or deny certain services or resources.

You can also change the workgroup names. identical names for the computers you want to allow communication between. Keep in mind though, if you have anything you do want to share between the computers, any files or printers, you will need to be on the same workgroup.

If you have an old Windows 2000 box you can do routing.
"Routing, which is included in Windows 2000 Server, is a process that forwards packets from one network to another. I usually use hardware routers that are highly optimized, but sometimes these routers are too expensive for smaller networks.

Windows 2000 Server provides an easy way to configure the router. All you need are two network interfaces that are connected to separate networks. To configure the whole thing, you’ll use a wizard that’s part of the Routing And Remote Access service.

On the Start menu, select Programs | Administrative Tools and then click Routing And Remote Access.
Right-click the server listed in the left part of the MMC console and select Configure And Enable Routing And Remote Access. When the wizard appears, click Next.
Select the Network Router and click Next.
Verify that the TCP\IP is listed and click Next.
    Select No and click Next.
    Click Finish.
You’ve just configured your Windows 2000 computer as an IP router. If you want to undo this routing, simply right-click the server from the list in the MMC console and click Properties; on the General tab, disable the Router check box."

    Or XP

or you could simply put them different workgroups in the computer name.

please i am dying of confusion here, I have a HP computer of which i want to reinstall the system i slotted the instillation cd into the cd drive, start the computer, go to setup, chose cd drive as an option to boot the system, here i started, then, i used the partition magic with the installation system that i am using to partition the hard disk, after that, i exit the installation to see how the disk i partitioned looks like, I discovered that the partitions are C and F instead of C and D, the cd drives became D and E instead of E and F,but i ignored it and continued the installation, i fermented formatted the hard disk of which i want to install the system to, the system started copying the files, up to 4 percent and stopped, a message appeared on the screen, says, a file is corrupt, but i trusted the cd i am using, then i had to change the cd drive, because i think the problem has to do with the cd drive, I start the computer with another cd drive and in setup i choosed cd drive to boot from, after all, a message appeared on the screen saying (NTLDR MISSING? ENTER) Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart, i had to do it and the message continue coming each time i restart the pc
The exploitation systam i used is (Tiny tux)
