I have an HP Pavilion Desktop 510-p114 computer running Windows 10 20H2. This computer has no PS22 connector. I would like to connect a PS/2 keyboard to it instead of a keyboard that has a USB connector. A PS/2 computer communicates using IRQ and the USB uses the polling method. Is there any way that I can connect my PS/2 keyboard to this computer and have it work properly?

I put this request in the Software part of this forum by mistake. Could someone please delete that thread for me?

I know about the hardware adapters, but I was wondering if the Windows 10 computer OS can handle a PS/2 keyboard that uses the IRQ method (interrupting the processor each time a key is pressed). I've read conflicting reports about this, some saying that Windows 10 continually polls the USB rather than waiting until an IRQ is received.

We have two Win 10 systems connected through a KVM switch to the keyboard, mouse and monitor. The KVM switch uses PS/2 so I think you can take it that the adapter will work. Can't understand why you don't just try it
