I have kind of an odd question. Is it possible to connect an external BluRay/DVD player to a laptop computer? I'm using an HP laptop with AMD A6-5200 APU w/ Radeon HD graphics 2.00 GHz with Windows 10 Home version 1803 build 17134.167. I don't have access to a TV for reasons I won't go into here,

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated!

Sure you can. There are many to choose from. But note if BluRay have a lot of licensing issues you have to deal with. So if you can live with DVD only, that would be a lot cheaper and easier.

Do you have the player? I haven't looked at DVD players for ages so what I'm saying might not be accurate today.
The DVD player connected to my kitchen tv has RCA connectors only. Those red, white and yellow plugs. There is no way I can attach it to my laptop computers unless I get some sort of adapters, I think. DVD set top boxes might have different connections today.

I bought a portable DVD burner with a Y-power USB connection. It uses 2 USB ports in a laptop for enough power. Again this was quite a few years ago. I can attach it to any computer in the house. (We had 8 at one point) and can both watch and burn CDs and DVDs. I rarely do any burning now. Most of our movies are stored on tiny sd or micro sd cards. It takes up so little room compared to the disks in cases.

One thing to be very aware of : Windows 10 doesn't come with player. The Windows store sells one for $15 but ask around there are probably better solutions.

That sounds more like a DVD player intended for a home theater setup, not as an external DVD drive for a computer

Tweety1964, could you be more specific?
What type of BD/DVD player are you trying to connect?

    Since it was mentioned
I mentioned a DVD attached to a tv just in case that's what he has and wants to connect to a computer.
We won't know what he wants to attach until he mentions specifics.
