Have you disabled the Windows (or any other) firewall on your mom's PC?

Is your network encrypted? When you click on connect, do you get no response or do you get a message asking for a password or do you get some other message?

Have you managed to configure any other PC to connect to your network wirelessly? And if you have, can you use its settings as a guideline?

Hope this gives you a few ideas, at least.
