    Hi Guys,

Right i connect to countless vpn's from my computer every day for work purposes.
Problem is that whenever i connect to a vpn my cpu will hit 100% cpu from svchost.exe for about 5 minutes and the same thing again when i disconnect.

Im just using a standard windows vpn. I also use other vpn methos such as Citrix and Cisco but these have no impact on my cpu.

This has been happening for over a year but im finally getting sick of it.

My computer is spyware and adware free as far as im aware. Ive run norton / AVG / Spybot search and destroy and they all come up clean.

Windows xp SP2 and ive updated my network card drivers to the latest version.

    Any ideas?

Did you ever resolve this? Same thing happening to me on my XP SP2 machine. I know it's Network Location Awareness (NLA), but haven't figured out what it's trying to notify that's causing the problem. I'm thinking about reinstalling 'cause I connect to clients' VPNs several times a day. Happens to me with Sonicwall Global VPN Client as well as Windows PPTP. Maybe we could trade some configuration info to figure out what's happening?
