I have a WinTV-250 card that I'd like to conncect to my Ambit (model U10C018) cable modem.

What sort of connection to I need to get. I gather I need a splitter (but what kind) and a short cable (but what type)? Would the splitter need to be attached to the modem?

Where's the best place to get this and anything else related to the installation? I have the software from Hauppauge and downloaded the lastest drivers as well. Using WinXP.

    Thanks. --Erik

use a splitter, split the cable before it gets to the modem (cat5 ) cable. one cable to the win tv card in the computer the other to the modem

Ok. . . I take it you mean get a 2-way splitter for TimeWarnerCable cable and have one cable go into the modem and the other into WinTV card. I'm confused by your mention of Cat5 cable with this scenario. Am I missing something?

Also, is there a minimum quality 2-way splitter that I need to purchase (ohms)?

    Thanks.

i mentioned cat 5 cause that's the standard cable used for internet (it's better that cat 3) as far as ohms it should actually be 5Mghz to 900Mhz

Thanks for clarifying your answer. I already have an Ambit modem connection set up, using a Cat5 cable -- no problem there. Thanks for the heads up on the ohms spec for the 2-way splitter. Cheers! --Erik
