Connecting ZTE Modem Model MF626 to VirtualBox Win8 Trial Guest

I have downloaded and installed Windows 8 Trial to VirtualBox and all my USB devices work as they should except for my ZTE Wireless Modem MF626.

On a previous installation some years ago on XP the guest installation found the modem automatically when the Internet was connected on the Host.

In this instance though when the modem is connected on my Windows 7 Host the moment I engage the appropriate USB device on the Guest installation it disconnects the modem on the Host and the modem will no longer initialise or connect.

I am unable therefore to validate my installation or make use of the Internet.
