Hi im with sky broadband which was disconnecting all the time, i found the fault to be having the router on the carpet, perhaps over heating or static charges, now the router is stable and rarely disconnects, however my computer seems to drop its connection with the router, and i have to restart my pc in order to regain this connection, i am using Sygate firewall, is there any settings on my pc i should no about that could possibly cause this inactivity period disconnection???

    thanks very much

Right click your local connection icon ...properties ...click configure on the adaper ...under power management ....uncheck the box to allow the computer to turn off the device.

try updating the firmware on the router and see if there is a available updated driver for your nic.
