connection problem

hey guys if u got a spare minute could you help me out a bit?

i've had my computer for about a year now... and about a month or two ago it suddenly decided to stop connecting to the internet using anything but msn. this is quite annoying as i can't play games online anymore. it also runs my older version of aim, but when i install a new version it won't connect anymore.

i bought my computer from cyber power, inc. i used to use zone alarm, but now i use ez trust.

if you need any more specs, just ask.

and thank you all a ton for any help you can offer... i've asked all my friends and family and none of us can figure it out.


i've run anti-spyware/adware programs, and as far as they tell me i've deleted all spy/adware on my computer....
but still the internet doesn't work, except on msn. i'm getting messages like "connection refused" and "can't connect"... it seems that one or two of the programs i installed before last january still can connect to, i think... example is itunes... it would connect until i upgraded it... then stopped working, even when i re-installed the original version...

without the computer configuration posted, theres little help available. not all computers are alike, and solving problems with a computer requires info about the computer specs.

 

If EZ Trust is anything like Zone Alarm disable it. It certainly sounds like your being blocked by something.

 

i understand... ummm i don't know exactly what to post. but i can tell you anything you need to know.. just ask because i'm not sure what you need to know... sorry
