Connection problems

If you can get to google then you at least have some sort of connection, so I would be checking for malware as a cause, so do some scans of your PC, if any are found then we have a Malware forum dedicated to the removal of those pests with a Read Me guide to follow.

I would also do some cleaning steps and delete all internet temps and cookies, could have some corrupt files, a good app to use is CCleaner.

Depending on browser used, try a different one like IE, Firefox or Opera to test if the issue lies with a specific browser or not, if linked to a browser then we can try steps to remidy that.

When you try and connect to a site that is not google, what message does your browser give you? if DNS error is mentioned then try this, open a command (CMD) prompt, and type ipconfig /flushdns and do this a few times.

XP ~ click Start > Run and type CMD and hit enter then type the command above.

Vista ~ Click Start Orb, in the Start Search box type CMD and when it shows in the search list right click it and choose Run as Administrator, then type in the command above (need to run as admin otherwise the command doesnt work)



BTW what Windows version are you using?
