Are your downloads slow or is your computer sluggish? It could be Spyware, a virus, interferance with your Phone line, a Bad physical connection. If you have eliminated all the above, try the free download at www.cablenut.com. Im sure there are dozens of others out there but this one I have used and can say for sure it did not mess up my OS's.......... 2000 Pro, XP Pro and XP home.

    good luck

i've tried several methods that were referred too but still have a problem with download speeds. i was running zone alarm firewall and disabled it picked up some speed and then speeds went down again. talked to my isp and they advised that it may be a virus. avg and trendmicro say its not. please help. also if anyone could recommend a firewall that wouldn't consume bandwidth. thanks

Me things there is something afoul....If I had to guess it sounds like this company sells software in remove its own spyware to improve performance.

I've seen 1.5X browser performance boots but that involved a client server setup with the ISP.
