connectors from front ports to mobo

ok i recently just got my new case (that black zorro one with the window etc) and i've just noticed that there are some connectors for usb, firewire and headphones and mic. i'm not too interested in the mic and headphone port but the usb and firewire port would be useful. the only problem is, is that they have codes on the connectors say for example D140 (as a guess i can't remember exactly but i'll post if needed) and on my motherboard i can only find ports that are for connectors beginning with R. does this mean that my motherboard won't support these ports or is there a way of connecting them?

i'm on a P3 motherboard but not sure how to tell exactly what it is, if that's any help!

 

check the mobo's manual,

everything is written in it, just follow the codes...you should have d0 d1 5v gnd and other things like that...

but only if your mobo has a usb header on it..

is there a way to determine if it can by getting the model number n tracing it on the net?

check on the mobo itself... between the 2 lower PCI connector, the model number is often written there


trace it on the net, download the manual and check

 

don't worry i've discovered that the ports aren't compatible with old cr***y P3 motherboards!

when i get my amd3000 bundle i'm sure they'll work easily!
