connetion issue

    During attempts to connect to any game server,at the precashing resources point half way through it stops and says ( disconnected client dropped from server) this happens even if the server is not full. Any cfg. settings I should check.?

    check you'r firewall settings

    Win xp provides you with 1, where you might not of configured "Gamespy" for example

    this may not be it, but id try it first if you havent already

    Sorry should have said it only happens at the steam dod game servers.And OS is win 98se.

    It only occurs when connecting to dod game servers though steam,there must be a setting in the cfg.file that pertains to connectivity in the dod files.?

    quick thought, are you using peerguardian by any chance, I know from personal experience that it can cause problems in games, World of Warcraft for example. If you do have peerguardian, try disabling it.

    Do you have any internet security software running in the background?
