If anyone has read some good technical reviews on motherboards that will support the "Conroe" 775 Core 2 Duo could they please post them. This link has 5-6 (down in the left hand column):

    http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=1376
    and from Toms:

But I'm having a hard time finding good technical comparitive assessments between the different motherboards.

Also keen on technical comparitive assessments on the top end RAM, currently have several on Crucial, Teen Extreme, Super Talent, but I need more info before I fork out the cash.

    Best Bet is to wait.
We'll see if Conroe is what it's cracked up to be.

The first run is bound to be buggy, but I guess someone need's to test for the rest of Us

So far most info is from product (CPU) that has been manufactured with silver spoon & one sided reviews.
I'll wait for the mass produced Conroe & Real World performance.

Of the MOBO's in Toms reviews, I read somewhere The gigabyte had better OCing features and was able to crank out more FSB than the others
If I can find the link again I'll post it.

DFI should be comming out with a few mobos for Conroe, The first one already is an Infinity 975X/G, Much better is soon to follow (DFI is the King of OC:p )

Chrzzz ASUS have to agree so to start with I'm going to build a "Conroe" ready system but then put in the Intel P 805 D (that little apparently OC gem although may limit mobo to one that supports both) and play with that for a while as it is coming in very cheap and if I fry it no great loss. The Gigabyte apparently will get to ~295FSB then is limited by current BIOS, the DFI reviews are very mixed so far and really wish they had a LANPARTY edition out, MSI well thats what I have now and are just crap imo, the ASUS is looking good (Asus P5WDH Deluxe) and which enthusiast will ever buy an Intel board:confused:

Well I fully retract my statement about Intel, BADAXE is seeming to be one badarse mobo and this guy has to be one of the best if not the best "EXTREME OC" I have seen to date:

    http://www.vr-zone.com/index.php?i=3834

His review of 4 Conroe mobo's:

    http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=79456

    A good review of DDR2 RAM "Creme of the crop";

Cmon all this an important thread for any wanting to research a "Conroe" ready system so plzzz any "serious" and decent articles plzzz post.

It's driving me crazy, Conroe released 27/07/06 in Aust. I have a lazy 2 grand in my pocket (knowing my luck if it stays to long the bloody car will break down and there is goes). But your being very wise I need to wait at least 1-2 weeks after Conroe has come out and watch these prices or I'll have made a rash decision and be kicking myself for months.

Yea I noticed his temps and his test rig is worth more than my car. I have to say does some awesome testing/sampling and I will be watching him close, importantly he shows some excellent links for "pencil modding particular mobo's" if you want to get it to the "bleeding edge".
