I've got a server running twin Opteron248s @2.2ghz (OEM fans and fins) in an iStar cube case(3 case fans, 2ps fans) along w/ 4x SATA ii drives (which generate LOTS of heat)

Problem: the server shuts down at random intervals that I'm currently blaming on CPU temps but I'm not certain --because I've never seen the CPU temps above 60°c. The 4x SATA's may be the cause also. --no relative info in the win2k3 system logs.

Proposed Solution: Peltier & water cooling for the CPUs AND SATA drives.

Can anyone offer insight or recommended reading for liquid cooling multi waterblocks?

Q: How do I know or calculate the number of radiator/heat exchangers I should use?
Q: How do i calculate the number of pumps?
Q: Do I connect the waterbocks in series or parallel?

I'll be searching the threads for troubleshooting the random shutdown issues but if anyone has tips or req'd reading links, I'd be grateful.

    Cheers! -- Micke
