i really want to play my playstation on my laptop. i bought a wintv card with s-vid in under the impression that usb2.0 would be fast enought to play it. however, there is about a 1.5 second delay with commands, making it nearly unplayable. i searched the forum and couldnt find anything. is it possible to have an adapter that takes s-vid and audio out through a faster connection, like firewire? any advice or links would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think the slowdown is coming from the connection. I think there is an actual delay from the computer turning the signal from the PS2 into a digital signal and then outputting it to the screen. I could be mistaken, but I don't think you will be able to get rid of the lag. :(

Yes, you'd need a decent emulator, however I'm uncertain whether or not it's allowed to be discussed here.

i dont believe hes talking about emulation, simply outputting the playstation signal to his laptop screen (at least thats what i read).

i'm not sure how to go about fixing that...
I play console games on my monitor through my PCI tv card, which is clearly faster than USB2.0... but i cant say for sure that the USB would cause your lag.
