    Hi,

I just moved my computer from one end of the room to the other. When I set it up again, the computer would boot up, then enter a screen with multiple option and a countdown at the bottom of the screen. It says "Sorry for the inconvenience, windows did not start successfully..." It has some more text and then it allows me the following options:

    Safe Mode
    Safe Mode with Networking
    Safe Mode with Command Prompt
Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
    Start Windows Normally

I've so far selected safe mode, last known..., and normally. They would reach the windows loading screen and after it seems that windows is loaded and about to enter the login screen, the computer reboots. If I just keep the computer on, it goes in a non-stop loop.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Andy

I've tried entering setup to alter some settings and then boot up, but it still loops.

are you getting a Blue Screen of Death? (BSOD)?

His system is probably set to reboot on errors rather than give the BSOD, which is more helpful because it gives an error message to at least google.
You need to open the computer and make sure everything is connected, all chips are in their sockets securely. Maybe something loosened just enough so that windows can't start up properly.
Don't touch anything until you ground yourself because static electricity can zap something then you may have a dead rather than just an ailing computer.

Thanks for the suggestion. I made sure everything was securely connected and tried to reboot again, but entered the loop again. This time I noticed that when the computer was starting, it said "No driver attached. Fasttrack controller BIOS not installed"

If you have an XP CD, run chkdsk /r from recovery console.
