Contact Microsoft

Does anybody know how to contact Microsoft in the UK?

I have been perusing their web site to read about Windows 10. There was an option to receive emails from Microsoft about Windows 10 news. I decided I'd sign up. You have two options (1) use your current Microsoft email account or (2) set-up a Microsoft email account. I don't have one and I don't want one. Microsoft shouldn't dictate which email address you use. So I want to contact them to deal with this issue. I've been to their web site and to contact them they want you to use a Microsoft email account. I'd like a phone number or other contact method. If I can't get any contact details I shall have to write to them.

 

I want to contact them not about giving news over the phone. I never thought they would, it never even cross my mind. That's not what I want from them over the phone.

I frequently multi-task safely and efficiently. Life wouldn't happen if we don't multi-task.

 

I just wanted to be able to contact Microsoft. Sometimes people who have dealt with a company know of a way to get in touch.

The matter about which I would like to talk to them is private so am obviously not going to give out the details on a public board.

If anyone wants this information you could try starting with telephone number 0844 800 2400 (obviously only useful for UK residents), which is what I shall do on Tuesday.

 

You do have to register with them but don't need to use Hotmail or Windows Live Mail. I use a different email account and if there's problems with my Microsoft account, for instance, they contact me at that account.

 

I have set up an account because it wasn't possible to proceed with setting up the machine other than to have an account. I used my email address and had to create a new password. Presumably (safer than assume) that's now my Microsoft Account.

People should check their phone provider for call rates. With my provider and plan 0844 numbers are free.
