Control F in IE8

    Hi. In previous versions of the IE I used the comand " Control F " to locate a word or a phraze in a long intrnet page. This does not work in the new IE8.
    will appreciate suggestions how to solve this problem.

    Hi

    It should do but the box doesnt popup in the middle like it used to but just under the Tabs.

    If that doesnt work then do you have any toolbars installed? if so uninstall them to test, also run the No-addons version of IE8, you will find it in Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and then try CTRL F and does it work as in the image above?

    Hi Halo. I did all the things that you suggested, including the " no add on " version. Nothing helps. I also talked to a Microsoft Experts forum, and they suggested to run the comand regsvr32 aleacc.dll . Did not help neither. This is not an emergency, I can wait untill MS will fix it. By the way, is it possible to have IE7 and IE8 installed side by side, so that I can run routinly the IE8, and when the need comes for the control F, I can switch to the IE7?

    Hi Halo. I went again through the entire procedure, and now it works!:) I do not know what did the trick, but the important thing is that it works.

    Cheers for the update and glad its fixed, but sadly no in both IE versions, best to have one running only and if you need an alternate browser then Opera or Firefox are good, I tend to run all three, more a case of getting to know each one for troubleshooting purposes.
