control panel problem

    I cannot open any icon in the control panel-- a window pops up with---

    Error Loading

    C:\windows\system32\shell32.dll

    Access is denied

    I have tried some fixes from similar post but to no avail.

    Please HELP !!

    Running Windows XP Home

    Are you running Comodo as this is known to sometime cause this problem

    Yes, I am running Comodo. I do not mind uninstalling but I can't use the add/remove mode in control panel.

    Comodo was the culprit. I uninstalled and now using Online Armor.

    Thanks to all for the advice !!
