Anyway to set this up easily?

I have a family member(s) who live in the same state as i do but live close to 1.5 hrs away from me.

I don't honestly like driving over there whenever they have some issues with their laptops/pc's. Most of the time it is just viruses they have or something minor which i would be able to find right away.

Is there a way where i can just connect and control their desktop via my laptop or desktop, it would save me the hassle of constantly going over their house.

Teamviewer is the best tool for this but you may need to visit them to set it up and explain how it works. At their end the portable version would be best as all they have to do is plug in a flash drive and tell you the password. You are then in full control.

Totally agree with Earthling here. I have used several and nothing else comes close for helping your family remotely.

Another vote for Teamviewer. It also allows for meetings, file transfer, and video chatting. It is a very robust tool for what it offers.
