Controlling Fans/Monitoring Temp

I am building a PC (first timer) with a Thermaltake case and a Tyan S2665 Thunder motherboard. Should I control/monitor the temp and fans via the motherboard or the panel in the case?

Second question ... my power supply does not have enough molex connectors. Can I simply add "splitter" extensions as long as I don't exceed the load of the PS?

Thanks in advance for any help ...

its common to run out of molex connectors, or have ones that won't 'reach' your bottom components. adding a splitter won't hurt, as long as you divide them reasonably (for example, if you have a new video card that needs a molex, give it its OWN direct plug from the PSU)

from my experience, case monitoring things do not work as accurately as the built in motherboard sensors, so i use software to read those sensors through windows (like Motherboard Monitor 5).
