I am not sure if this is possible, but it is worth asking about. I am limited to a certain provider that provides 10 Mbps of speed. There are three phones, two laptops, one desktop, Dish network, and an Xbox 360 all using the same connection. I would like to know if it is possible to limit how much many Mbps each item may use. For example, I pay for the internet and only use the Xbox 360, and occasionally the desktop for blogging and such. Therefore I want the Xbox to have priority over anything else, pull at least half of the speed completely. Everything else can share the remaining speed. I would upgrade to a cable internet provider but my landlady neglected to pay her bill, honest it wasn't her fault rolleyes so I cannot get it hooked up here. Any ideas or way to do this would helpful. Thanks.

Unless your router supports it, no.

Most home routers will not support what you need (QoS via mac address).

Check out dd-wrt. It should do it.

    Hi

I know my router supports this, but as Adryn says do check your router and its options to limit access.

dd-wrt and openwrt could help as 3rd party http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/start
