Conversion of PDF files to Excel format

    Does anyone know how to convert PDF files to Excel format?
    I use Acrobat Reader 6.0. The text tool within PDF which I used to paste onto Excel did not work.
    Also I could not find any import or export tools within both programs to do this task.
    Please advise

    I think you'd have the best luck converting a PDF to HTML and then converting the HTML into Excel. Will probably take some doing and manual editing of the HTML file.

    There are any number of PDF to HTML converters online.

    I am running Office 2000 and I would not know how to convert PDF to HTML.
    May be it has to do with the fact that I use Acrobat Reader 6.0 which is the free version and does not probably have all the features of their paid version which may allow you to edit text and format for use with other programs. I am not really sure!

    Had a quick look at Acrobat Pro and their are no options to convert PDF to Excel ( it will the other way around Excel to PDF ) so like the others have said your best off converting to HTML, MS Word, RTF or just plain text etc etc then Cut n Paste data into an Excel Sheet?


    If the PDF file you want to convert is online or can be put on some webspace then Adobe themselfs have a free converter tool to convert PDF to HTML ( but you have to paste a URL link to it in the box )

    or you can send them it attached to an email and have it returned to you http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/access_email.html
