convert dvds to psp with cucusoft?

I am a mom, used to be literate in computers, long time ago. I received a ipod 160 GB as a gift, downloaded cucusoft ultimate dvd video converter suite so that i could load movies PLUS giving my child a PSP slim 4 xmas so could put movies on there too i fugured. two questions: 1. can i load movies directly from cucusoft to ipod without using itunes??? (i tried, but failed so used cucusoft and itunes and that worked i was pretty proud of myself! :celebrate) 2. I can't get ANYTHING :mad to work to load movies onto PSP. I went out and bought ANOTHER program:cry called max media manager pro...guy PROMISED it was easy and a cinch...loaded it, only to discover I think my windows version is too old :tired .I have spent hours...don't know what i am doing :banghead except running out of time and spending more $$$! help!.

 

I'm not an iPod user (or a Cucusoft user), so I can't help there. But you mention that your Windows version is too old. What version are you running? There's also lots of free utilities that will convert to PSP and iPod format, and they may be easier than Cucusoft. Check the Multimedia section here at MajorGeeks (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads32.html ). Anyway, post the version of Windows, include the service pack number (if applicable).

update, I figured cucusoft out with the PSP...and it actually is easy to use NOW that I spent a lot of time trying, trying and trying. Three things...on the PSP under settings there is an option when using a USB to 'charge only' or to 'download AND charge'---if it is on 'charge only' the computer will consisitently fail to acknowledge your PSP is plugged into your computer for download, yet when you look it acknowledges that it is connected---thus problems downloading...(2) I was selecting the 'video' option on cucusoft, because the PSP said 'video' on the screen...video to video right? Wrong. I changed my selection on cucusoft to 'DVD' and lastly (3) On 'output' when converting the dvd I WAS selecting ONLY the USB port that my PSP was plugged into (LSP), now I am MORE specific and listed the port AND THEN WHERE on the PSP...e.g. L:VIDEO. It worked!!!!...again, and again, and again. Now on to the Ipod...hmmm. As for windows, I AM running XP, don't know where to find the version beyond that. Media pro won't download correctly still...tabs and windows don't match up, they are all over the screen... I uninstalled and re-installed...and still all over the place, doesn't look ANYTHING like what is on the back of the box
