Around the time that Windows 2.0 was around I worked in a University as Research Assistant to a v bright guy. A geek of course, we had endless debates about the whether moving from the CL meant users didn't have to think any more to useability is all.

I understood what he meant, as Windows 'progressed' it got increasingly difficult to get into the guts of it and tweak, yet it opened up computing.

Just taken the *large* step for me and moved my personal comp, (Everyday OS) to XP pro and had occasion today to use system restore.

    OK, I admit it, not bad:cool: :D

Still like Linux though for fidgeting;)

the really only differences in xp pro are for networking. and there is the remote connection but taht really is networking to. I guess its supposed to be for like businesses and the home edition for individuals but that never panned out.

    It certainly did pan out.

    Only Pro joins domains.

The large majority of home users use Windows XP Home.

There are more than just networking differences.

Look up th thread that was posted a while back on it.

yeah but other than that everything is the same. not much of a difference between the two.

    Other than what?

There are more differences than what I just mentioned.
