I've been able to print a Word 2000 document to a PDF by choosing File>Print and selecting "Microsoft Print to PDF". This has worked for the last several months, but today when I try it, it doesn't print anything. It does create a link to the PDF in C:\Users.... but when I click that link, nothing happens.

The last time I used Word 2000 to print to a PDF was a week or so ago. Since then something has changed, but I don't know what. Can somebody please help me out here? Thanks in advance!

Windows 10 does updates all the time. It might have been an update.

I guess you've been lucky that it worked at all because Office 2000 is not compatible with Windows 10

Since office 2000 didn't have this feature (I use Office 2000 but don't run Win 10), you must have installed an addon. To get to print a pdf, I installed a program.

Here's a thread on MS print to pdf. It discusses Windows 7 but some of the ideas and links might be helpful for Windows 10.

I was surprised when I read that Office 2000 is not compatible with Windows 10, but that it can be installed anyway. So I installed it. And it works. Mostly. Some things (like inserting fields in the footer) will give me a dialog box but clicking the options in that dialog box does nothing. There are a few other things that don't work.

Yes, I was surprised about the Microsoft Print to PDF all of a sudden not working. I thought that I'd used it before but I could be mistaken. Anyway, I did find a way around it. For others wanting to know:

    1. Save the Word or Excel document as a web page (html).
    2. Open the html and adjust the width of the webpage so that it will print on an 8-inch-wide paper.
    3. Select File>Print>Microsoft Print to PDF and go for it.

So far it works, but I'm sure that I didn't have to do that a couple of weeks ago... From Excel I printed several pages to PDF without problems. Boy do I hate Bill Gates futzing around and updating Win10 without my knowledge... that's most likely what happened this time.
