Converting Publisher to Word

I have received a Microsoft Publisher file, which I have no problem opening because I have Microsoft Publisher. But, I want to convert it into a Microsoft Word document. Is this possble? If yes, how do I go about doing it?

 

File, Save As, and choose a Word format. However, you'll probably lose formatting in the Publisher document by doing this. You could also just try copy and paste.

 

That does not work. When you try that you get the following error message: "The file type you selected only supports text. To save only the text of this publication, click OK. To save the entire publication, Click Cancel, and then choose the Publisher (.pub) file type".

In Publisher I click on Edit, then I click on Select All, then I click on Edit again and click on Cut. Finally I click on Paste in Word but nothing at all happens.

I had already tried those options. That is why I came on Majorgeeks to ask if any one knew of a file converter.

 

Yep, I know. That's why I said, "you'll probably lose formatting in the Publisher document by doing this." I should have clearly stated the conversion to text factor.

I don't know what you're doing there. I can copy and paste from Publisher to Word.

I don't believe you're going to find any third party converter software for this. I guess you could use a roundabout procedure where you save your Publisher as PDF and then use a third party tool to convert the PDF to Word.
