Converting Word 2007 to PDF

Hi, I'm having some trouble getting a Word 2007 document to convert to PDF without format errors. I've tried two different conversion methods (PDF Creator and Zamzar), and both produce the same results.

My first page is a full bleed graphic, looks fine in Word but when converted to PDF there's extra white space at the bottom of the page. At first there was extra white space on the right side too, but that was fixed when I changed the page size to 8.25x10.25. But still I can't get rid of that wide band of white at the bottom of the page.

Also, my photos that I made nice shadow effects for in Word come out awful in the PDF document - the shadow just looks like a gray blotch that doesn't belong there.

And one more thing.. the font resolution is very poor in the PDF.

Is there any way to improve the conversion to PDF without buying Acrobat Pro?

There is a free plugin from Microsoft that converts word docs to PDFs. It is available from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...11-3E7E-4AE6-B059-A2E79ED87041&displaylang=en

 

It is now built into office 2007. Originally, MS was going to release it built in, but Adobe got upset about it. So, they took it out, and had it as an optional download. Then SP2 came out, and added it back in.
