Hi, i have been using convertxtodvd for at least 2 years.
Then about 2 days ago, it decided to stop burning to my dvd, it converts the avi files no problem, but when it comes to burning on to my dvd, it says wrong dvd, or does not recognise dvd.
as i said its worked for so long, then has just stop and it don't recognise my dvd drive.
any help would be great, thanks for reading and if anybody can help. will be happy to hear from you. thank you Arnie!!

Sorry forgot to add this. the only thing it says i can use is>>"ISO image in working folder<< i have no clue what that means.

    thanks again

Is your DVD drive functional? Does it show up in My Computer? Does it read CDs and DVDs? Will it burn a CD/DVD with another program?

Hiya Just Playin. thanks for the response.
too all of them questions, yes it does. I can put a disc in, and it will ask if i want to add media file too it. Also i can burn music on to cd. It all started 3 days ago, ive used it for ever, only thing i have done since i got my computer, was put another external hard drive on. that was a few days ago also.
i can convert a film in convertodvd,i put a disc in the e drive, and convertodvd says its prising the disc, then just as it comes to burn it say wrong disc. as i said this is the first time i have had a problem. i normally can sort it out myself. this is beyond me though.
thanks for the help though mate arnie :):):)

no it will not burn on to the disc. just converts then asks me to put a disc in, which have always done. I have done for 2 years, then it just says wrong disc, and wrong size disc now. ive used the same disc for 2 years at least. with no problems, yeah i get a few disc that are a bit crappy but nothing bad, i don't mind losing a couple of disc, as i buy them in special packs at a very good price!
    thanks for answering again

You can't burn any kid of DVD with any kind of software or just ConvertXDVD? If you haven't tested it with any other software:

    Download Imgburn
Save your DVD as an ISO file in the working folder.
Open Imgburn and use it to burn the ISO file to DVD.

If this works, that usually rules out drive problems. Reinstalling ConvertXDVD might help or check their help forum for a solution. If both programs fail to work, the drivers or the drive itself may be bad.

Uninstall and reinstall your DVD drivers to see if this helps. If not, you may need a new DVD drive

I had this problem a few weeks ago. I dont know why it happened but the way I sorted it was togo to my writer drive, properties recording and unclick "enable CD recording on this drive " Apparently XP sometimes conflicts with Convert X

    Hope it works.
