Convetxtodvd 5 On Windows 8.1

Will this program work on windows 8.1 ,I tried version 4 and it would not install on laptop.

It installed and converted, then when it came up to puting in dvd to burn. I canceled ,because i wanted to check and see if a watermark was on it or not, i played file on powerdvd, then i went to look for the converted file in the default folder, i took the video ts folder and clicked burn already converted project, after if finished writing, i pit disc in dvd player and it would not play, my player said disc is dirty, i tried the disc in computer and it does not show the disc in drive, I tried it on my desktop computer . I have not tried to burn again in laptop

I tried copying a dvd with cyberlink powerdvd that came installed on new laptop, I used sony dvd blank disc it copied the disc put it in dvdplayer and pc dvd writer and it willnot play. So is it the dvd burner or the type of disc i"m using? At first i thought it was the programs .

Hard to say because I do not run Windows 8, have never used either program to try and copy a DVD. In addition, I have never purchased Sony brand DVDs.
I can tell you, I have one standalone DVD player that refuses anything burned to a DVD+R blank disc. So I write on any DVD+R disc that it will not play on a certain player.I now only buy DVD-R discs.

Use a different brand of DVD like Verbatim or Memorex.
