    Hello:
A friend of mine started clearing her cookies last night and her computer will not quit running. She uses IE and Windows XP. Is there a way to go in the back door and stop it or fix the problem. And why would it keep running like that. Wil lit hurt the computer to unplug and reset it. Thank You!

Won't stop running? She can't shut it down? Not sure what you mean. If its what I think than just press and hold the power button until it shuts off. Sometimes it takes up to 1 minute but usually shorter. As long as she isn't working on something she's afraid of loosing then it will be alright. Worst case is she will have to start in safe mode and do a system restore but that is absolute worst case. Depending on what she has accually deleted. Now that I think about it maybe you should check her recycle bin just to be sure before you restart.
