    hi im trying to find cool edit pro or a similar program. can any1 tell me of any freeware programs that are preferably hot or pick on this site??? or can someone tell me which catagory i need to find such programs on this site? thanks

    Cool Edit Pro is now Adobe Audition, which is not offered for free.

    I've heard some people talk about Audacity.

    Other than that, you'll need to ask in the Software forum.

    As LauraR mentioned, Audacity is one option, although I haven't tried it. It usually gets 5/5, 5 stars or Excellent ratings in reviews I have read. Bazza

    thanks to you both i will try audacity & let you know what happens... im still after a dvd audio ripper that rips music files from DVD & turns them into mp3's to burn on CD....
