Cooling fan install.

    I am installing a new cpu and fan for the first time.I know how to do it but was wondering if I need to get some heat jell to seal the fan to the motherboard? Emachine-533MHz-256 SDRAM-8GB Hard drive.Windows2000 Pro.Thanks. :)

    Personally I would go with arctic silver paste... and the instructions for applying it are available at their website. Most of the instructions go for any paste thermal compounds, for example the cleaning methods, and the application.

    Thanks for your help.The last fan I had replaced the guy didnt use any thing to seal it.
