My computer seem to run full blast with the fan going fast when I set it to 100%. Which at 100%, it only uses 50% of the CPU. But I turned it down, so now it uses about 25%, and my pc is quiet like it is when it's idle. I want my PC to take it easy, until it gets old.

Since I have a fast internet connection, and plenty of memory, I set it to download assigments greater than 5MB. I can download 1MB/s or so on my cable internet :D

Will my pc hybernate like it usually does after three hours of idle time?

Would the text version work faster? Is there a thread for advanced users?

Actually internet speed isn't important. You can fold as well with dial up as with high speed. Speed of the processor counts, because that determines how fast a job will finish. If your computer hybernates the job will just take longer.

If you're talking about folding it doesn't matter how fast your internet connection is, dialup is as good as high speed.

Setting up folding as a service is a bit faster according to Goldie, but I've tried both, and prefered the graphical service because I can turn it off (XP assumed).

If you're not talking about folding (which isn't clear either way), never mind.

the text client is considered to be faster

this can be 'shut down' if need be via:

    Start - run - sevices.msc

I can get the links to work if I change the web address to 74.86.201.210 instead of majorgeeks.com
