    Hello,
Can you copy an installed program's folder and use it as a backup -or does it need the '.exe' to be usefull? -I ask because there are a few programs that I have that I no longer have the disc for and want to reformat.
This has NOTHING to do with piracy: I just have a couple of installed programs that I want to back up and I can't find their installation discs.
    Thanks,
    522.

no most programs make various registry entries etc meaning youd need the original set-up exe to install them

After some thought: I figure that the answer must be 'No' as a program has to create reg. keys, and such, on installation ... ... ... ...-but I hope I'm wrong.
