copying files with cd writer

i 've never copied files before. can i put them on cd-r disks or are rewriteable ones required? i need to save some stuff b4 i pull my hd.

 

You can use both, the only difference between cd-r and cd-rw is that with cd-r files can only been written once, that means once you put a file on there it cannot be deleted, you can only add files till the cd is full. With CD-RW you can delete files to make room for other more important files.

 

once i put them on disk can i add them back to my new hard drive individually?

thanks, i know it(the newbie) comes out when i ask that kind of stuff. it's just that this hd is so messed up and old and the new one is much nicer...

 

not so fast now the friggin' cd writer doesn't work. i swear! little box that says "my cd" popped up and says run time error 429 activex component can't create object. why me? why?

Got to the link I have provided you, and follow instructions to download and install Windows Script 5.6 for Windows ME...then restart the system and try your project again!!

hi guys- i went and got a version of recordnow d/l'd it and installed it. voila!- my cd writer works like a champ . copied 1 disk of files already. i can't wait to change my hd.
