copying folders

I have a 17 gig folder (MyMusic) that i would like to write to a DVD . I have a double layer DVD burner. I want to do this simply to have a backup of my MyMusic folder. What is the easiest way to do this ?
I tried the Send To : DVD-RW Drive ( E: ) But it would not write to DVD .
It would tell me the DVD is full or unwritable. This is my first time trying to write to DVD-R . (Yes, I am using NEW, BLANK DVD-R's)

 

Dual layer DVDs hold around 8.5GB
so you are going to need at least 2 dual layer dvds

what software do you have for the dvd burner ?
ie: nero, roxio etc

 

Apparently i will need the software to perform this.
I just downloaded FinalBurner, and am trying that .
Any suggestions ? What do YOU use ?

Create on your HD, 4 seperate folders, label the first folder A-G(or however you have to label it) and copy your A-G songs to that folder, making sure you do not exceed 4.3GB per folder. Create subsequent folders as needed. Just make sure you don't exceed 4.3 GB per folder.

Now you should be able to burn the contents of each seperate folder to single-layer DVD-R's.

 

I just use nero, thats what came with my dvd-burner

Most dvd burners will come with some form of software when you buy them

Puppywunder58 has the right idea, thats exactly how I would do it.
If you already have the double-layer discs, use them by all means.
