    Just getting into digital video.
Was wondering how best to approach these two scenarios:

    1) Copy straight from VHS to DVD.

    2) Edit/manipulate VHS and then put finished product on DVD.

For #1 - would a 'combo' unit (VCR / DVD recorder) work well?
    Any suggestions on mfg/model number?

For #2 - any suggestion on a 'video capture' card for the PC?
I have a Dell with a DVD burner and can anyone suggest some "good" and "easy to use" software for editing the VHS source?

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I've heard good things about the Plextor PX-TV402U. They also have other models with different capabilities, that's the one I'm thinking about getting.
