hay guys i really dont know much about this so if anyone can help me i would
appreciate it a lot!
so , this is the thing i have some info on an external harddrive and i am passing on this info to someone i really dont know.This infomation includes video and audio of a course that i took.and this person wants it.. but i dont want her passing it on to someone else ....NOw,does anyone know of a way that i can prevent them from copying it over to another harddrive ,some sort of fire wall or humm a dicriptor or maybe a program that i can download ,,,well if anyone can help me I would appreciate it a lot thanks!!

As a published poet with copywrites pending I do know at least this my poems can be altered and re-publised...if altered correctly I have no legal claim.

If I am reading you correctly you video'd with audio an event - be careful - if the event was a purchased event you have no claim to a copywrite but you could sell it to the highest bidder, if no you may or may not be required to obtain signed release forms from any and all persons in the video giving you the rights to use their images, likness etc.

Go to the Library of Congress they provide the copywrite forms, instructions and fees and you MUST submit them PRIOR to any transfer of your work to any commercial or private second party you will also need to know transfer of copy write pending (or not copy write pending) work over the internet has a whole other set of issues. Once you file for copywrite you will get a copywrite pending registration number that should be included in your work. DO YOUR RESEARCH you will also want to provide a binding written contract expressing any use in part or whole of any part of your work is expressly forbidden with out prior permission from you...etc prior to the transfer and of course after a copywrite registration number has been issued, and even then consider transfer to the second party on a disk.
