So my family's router took a dump a few days ago and we had to buy a new one. The one that broke was a d-link wireless router. Now we bought a new one and it is a Netgear wireless router. Whenever someone gets on the cordless phone, it will jam my brother's wireless adapter's signal and he will lose his connection. Is there anything I can do to my router settings or my brother's computer settings to fix this?

If you console into your router via the web interface, usually accessible by typing the ip of your default gateway into your web browser, you can change the channel of your wireless. If it is currently on channel 1, change it to channel 11.

to get the ip of your default gateway:
    click start
    click run
    type cmd
    hit enter
    command prompt will come up
    type ipconfig
    hit enter
you will see some numbers come up in the output. look for default gateway.
type that number into your browser. check for wireless settings in the control panel that comes up. you should see settings for the channel. go ahead and change that, and that should fix your problem.
