Core 2 Duo E4700 or Dual Core 2220

Hi, i am going to upgrade my CPU from a Pentium D 915 to a
Core 2 Duo E4700 or Dual Core 2220.
Well as im only 14, im on a budget. I will be O/Cing Them BTW

Current Specs

Mainboard : Asus P5GZ-MX
Chipset : Intel i945G/GZ
Processor : Intel Pentium D 915 @ 2800 MHz
Physical Memory : 1024 MB
Video Card : Nvidia Corp GeForce 8500 GT
Hard Disk : ST380811AS (80 GB)
Monitor Type : ViewSonic VA1912w-3 - 19 inches
Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 5.01.2600 Service Pack

My MB can only support upto 800mhz FSB so Core 2 Duo E4700 or Dual Core 2220 are the best Ones to Choose.

I think there's some confusion here..... the dual core 2220 is an AMD Opteron and will not work on the motherboard listed. Opterons are generally considered server chips.... that doesn't mean you can't game with it, it's just designed for servers. In this situation, I'd recommend that you either do some more research for two CPUs that will work in the same motherboard so we have a somewhat level playing field, or just go with the C2D E4700.

 

by the Dual Core 2220 i mean the Pentium E 2220 sorry for confusion
