Corrupt AVI File

Hey everyone,

I have a Logitech camera one of the very basic ones. I have a video I recorded and for some reason it says it corrupt. Its and .avi file. Does anyone know of a way to repair the file? The file size is large and it seems to be there but I can't get it to open.

If you Google for "repair corrupt AVI file" you will find a number of utilities that claim to be able to do the job. I've never personally tried them, so can't recommend one. But *maybe* this one will work for you...

WARNING:
There are a LOT of bogus programs available for download on the internet, including from supposedly "reliable sources" - use some common sense about what you download, be sure to scan the file with a GOOD anti-virus and anti-malware program (NOD32, for example), and check reviews at different sites if possible to see what people are saying about the software.

The DIVX app that I pointed you to is on sourceforge, and so far I've never seen or heard of them having any problems with malicious software being posted there.

Thanks for the help. I have tried that program but with no luck... Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I wonder if its something like a failure in the "compiling" the file upon completion of the video. Is there a way to "manually" complete the file..

I've never had need of avi repair but have heard video fixer recommended. Not sure what the limitations are of the trial version.
