corrupt files problem

ok so after browsing the forums and finding no clear solution this looked like the best forum so i guess i will ask here
files i download are corrupt (not all of them but mostly)
those who are bigger than 20mb are corrupted
i dont have the nvidia firewall
my pc is brand new
can this be caused by my modem
d-link adsl modem
i asked the isp if i was losing data i'm still w8ting for the reply
i need help fast

 

Hi there borcemk and welcome to MG !
What browser are you using ? Try using another browser !
Go into yor device manager, find your network card, uninstall the one you have, reboot and then reinstall the drivers for it.
Also check your event viewer to see what has been logged as errors regarding your networking devices etc !
Another check to make is, if you have access to another PC or LT, connect that up to see if that does the same thing, if not then you can rule out your modem !
Check all connections with cables connecting the modem to the PC !

ok so i found the problem but i had a hard time solving it
i tried reinstalling windows and that worked all the files that were said to be corrupt were now fine not until the next day when the same problem reappeared so i know now that my files are ok but i just can't access them can this be caused by a virus or something or its the hardware
